The UArctic Læra Institute for Circumpolar Education and the Scottish Association for Marine Science-University of Highlands and Islands (SAMS-UHI) will jointly host a session entitled 'Innovation in Arctic education and public outreach' at the 7th UK Arctic Science Conference, taking place 11-13 April 2022 at the Durham University.
This session is devoted to innovation in education and public understanding related to the Arctic or Circumpolar North. Papers are invited on all educational, communication and outreach contexts, whether aimed at university students, school pupils, policy-makers, the general audience, or other stakeholders. Papers can also range widely over education or outreach formats, programmes, events and communication styles, whether online, in print or in person. Our goal is to understand how best to educate people beyond the academy about the Arctic, to learn about and from existing initiatives, and to spur further innovation in Arctic education and public outreach.
Interested scholars or practitioners should please submit abstracts to Prof Bob Baxter of the University of Durham, following the submission instructions on the conference website.
The deadline for abstracts is 28 February 2022. We look forward to your submissions!
