The Læra Institute is pleased to invite UArctic faculty interested in undergraduate teaching and learning about the Circumpolar North to participate in our second faculty workshop on Circumpolar Studies curriculum development, taking place in person on 23rd May 2023 as part of the UArctic Assembly meeting in Quebec City.

Abstracts are invited for a session entitled 'Educational innovation in Arctic science', hosted by the Læra Institute and the UEA School of Environmental Sciences at the 8th UK Arctic Science Conference, taking place 11-13 September 2023 at the British Antarctic Survey in Cambridge.

Last week, the Læra Institute took an active part in the 25th Arctic Science Summit Week, convening a session on 'Educational innovation and pedagogy for the Anthropocene Arctic' together with the GCU Mary Robinson Centre for Climate Justice.

The Læra Institute is delighted to have taken part in the first in-person workshop of the University of Washington's NSF-funded 'Co-designing Civic Education for the Circumpolar North' project, which took place in Rovaniemi and Ánar/Inari, Finland, from 10th to 14th October.

The Læra Institute is excited to annouce that we have now published the first version of our 'Circumpolar Studies Curriculum Development' guidebook, to support UArctic member faculty who are developing, re-developing, reviewing or enhancing undergraduate curricula focused on the study of the Circumpolar North.

On 12th and 13th May, the Læra Institute took part in the UArctic Thematic Network and Institute Leadership Conference, hosted at the University of St Andrews, introducing our work to other UArctic member institutions and updating them on our plans.

This week, the Læra Institute took an active part in the 7th UK Arctic Science Conference, convening a session on 'Innovation in Arctic education and public outreach' together with the Scottish Association for Marine Science, an academic partner of the University of the Highlands and Islands.
